Book published on the occasion of the retrospective of Nina Childress, Body Body at FRAC - Nouvelle Aquitaine, MÉCA BORDEAUX from December 2021 to August 2022.

The glow-in-the-dark 750-page monograph includes more than 1400 illustrations.

The 246-page biography includes 150 small black and white photos.

In the form of a catalog raisonné, this monograph lists all the works of Nina Childress, painter and head of the studio at the Beaux-Arts de Paris - from her first painting in 1980 to those of 2020. The phosphorescent cover of the book recalls the recent works. The reproductions follow one another in a systematic chronological order. They are meticulously captioned: year, medium, dimensions, location (public or private, destroyed or lost paintings), exhibitions, publications. Paintings for which there is no photo are replaced by a green background. Thus, we can really understand the construction of the work during the period that covers "the end of painting to its newfound acceptance".

A true art object, this book is accompanied by an autobiography of Nina Childress written by Fabienne Radi. With a subtle humor and in a very expressive way, Radi retraces the path of this non-conformist artist. Her text evokes a specific period - that of the 80s and 90s - when freedom met fantasy and non-political correctness.

The pictorial account of the artist's life reveals her journey in the context of intense creative activity.  At once a record of forty years of painting by a Franco-American artist living in Paris, an object of study for art historians, and a working tool for those who disseminate the work, this edition will undoubtedly be cult-like for nostalgics and enriching for the young.
