"No image I create for fashion can ever be as satisfying as finding a real moment that encapsulates my ideas of what makes a good photograph," explained society photog, Jessica Craig-Martin. The acclaimed artist—who first honed her skills by taking "party pictures for a very wealthy New York businessman who wanted a record of his jovial and vulgar drunken office parties," is releasing a series of party prints this week in conjunction with 20×200, an art-dealing site that believes in "art for everyone."

Craig-Martin's photos are famed for their ability to expose the wealthy, though despite their vulnerability her subjects are rarely identifiable. A bra strap, some smeared lipstick, perhaps a wrinkle or two—are zoomed in on with high exposures and elevated contrasts. "I feel that a well examined detail can tell the whole story better that a pulled back general shot of a scene," Martin explained of her unflinching close-ups. Bright as they are colorful, the ironic photos, "have a sense of human fragility."
