Sunny Kim


Sunny Kim (b. 1969, Korea) received her BFA from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, N.Y. and her MFA from Hunter College, N.Y.  She has exhibited at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul and Gwacheon; The National Museum of Art, Osaka; Seoul Museum of Art, Seoul; Kunstalle Wien, Vienna; Culture Station Seoul 284, Seoul; A.P.T Gallery, London; PKM Gallery, Beijing; Artists Space, New York; Ilmin Museum of Art, Seoul; Artsonje Center, Seoul; Gallery Hyundai 16 Bungee, Seoul; Space bm, Seoul; and A-Lounge, Seoul, among others. She has held residencies at MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, Ucross Foundation, and MMCA Residency Changdong. She has received grants from the Arts Council Korea, Platform Choice at Incheon Art Platform, and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. She has been nominated and participated for the exhibition, Korea Artist Prize 2017 at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul. She divides her time between Seoul and New York.
