Jesse Mockrin

Jesse Mockrin (b. 1981 in Silver Spring, Maryland) is a painter living and working in Los Angeles. Mockrin holds a Bachelor of Arts from Barnard College and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of California at San Diego. Her figurative oil paintings appear, at first glance, to belong in a different era. Inspired by both Rococo paintings and male fashion magazines, the cropped images pose questions about gender and perception. Mockrin’s second exhibition at Nathalie Karg Gallery will be held in the Fall of 2019.
