Bastien Aubry (b. 1974 in Saint-Imier, Switzerland) and Dimitri Broquard (b. 1969 in Geneva, Switzerland) have been collaborating since they met while studying at the Ecole d’arts visuels Berne et Bienne in Switzerland. After graduation they set up their design studio FLAG and also began creating artwork that toes the line between fine art, craft and design under the name Aubry / Broquard. The Swiss duo’s work has been the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions in locations such as the A.C. Kupper Modern in Zurich, Switzerland; Nathalie Karg Gallery in New York; Galerie Martin van Zomeren in Amsterdam, Holland; SWG3 Gallery in Glasgow, Scotland; and Swiss Institute Contemporary Art in New York. Aubry / Broquard’s pieces form part of the Crédit Suisse collection in Zurich and the Burger Collection in Hong Kong.

Aubry/Broquard’s latest artist book, L’aurore Samedi (The Aurora on Saturday), presents the duo’s expanded painting practice, and was created in reaction to images found in the Smith-Lesouëf Library, Maison d’Art Bernard Anthonioz/Fondation Nationale des Arts Graphiques et Plastiques in Paris. L’aurore Samedi was published by Perimeter Editions in 2017.
